Meeting across all UAL students

Today was first meeting across all UAL Japanese students with Ken Ewings and students from Student Union in Holborn.
We firstly introduced ourselves and shared our ideas how we can support.
Then we were divided into CCW(Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon) + LCC Group.
We agreed to work as short, mid and long term.
Here are summary of our discussion.

◎Short term donation
Better to do it outside as we cannot expect much money if we do it only in the colleges and asked only to students.
Co-operate with the fundraising that already exists outside college.
(make clear where we send money for, ex. Japanese red cross or we can use Student Union's bank account)

◎Mid term donation
Make an icon for this fundraising(ex Cherry blossom, Japan flag) so that people can notice and remember easily.
Make those iconic badges and give them to the donator who donated.
This plan has already started (it is run by Masa Inaba(Chelsea MA) http://art-glossary.com/). If we can choose the icon, we can use it for textiles badges and more comprehensive ways.

◎Long term
With the money we collected from short and mid term donations, we want to make the bank account in the name of UAL and the pool the money to it.
We can send the money to Japanese red cross and also use it for the long term projects like auction, charity events and exhibiitons.
All and all, we agreed that the most important thing of this activity is to people to not to forget the earth quake. we are thinking to advertise this using Facebook, Blog, and hopefully on TV.

the activities we are already running is ...

Every tuesday, the money of the soup sold in Camberwell will directly be donation.
Soup Kitchen - for Japan

The meeting starts in the canteen at Chelsea college from 1pm instead of 16.00 on Monday 21st. We will discuss how we can use this blog effectively.
Everyone welcome.

There is also another meeting in the canteen at Chelsea college at 4pmTuesday 22nd about "Bring & Buy events" (On 29/3, there will be a "bring and buy sale" in Chelsea canteen. )
